The Calyx Piano Trio returns to New Bern to conclude season thirteen with a program of heart-rending music reflecting on loss and joy. Works include Dvorak’s Piano Trio in f minor, Op. 65;Deep River (a spiritual popularized by Dvorak’s American associate Henry Thacker Burleigh); and the North Carolina premiere of Death with Interruptions by celebrated American composer Derek Bermel.
